Feng Tay Group is pleased to release its first Sustainability Report. It covers our policies, practice, and recent performance in corporate social responsibility. With this report we reconfirm our commitment to employees, communities, customers, shareholders, and the environment, and affirm our determination to meet future challenges. A few highlights:

Corporate Governance

Feng Tay Group implements corporate governance with integrity and compliance as well as insistence on operational transparency and respecting shareholders' rights. The Board of Directors has provided guidance to the management team throughout the strategy-making process. It also plays an important role in overseeing our Group's performance in sustainability.

We view audits as important means to improving conditions at our workplaces. Remediation efforts following audits lead to systemic changes that prevent reoccurrence of similar issues, and lessons learned are shared among all factories in the Group.

Employee Safety and Benefits

Prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses remains one of the highest priorities for our management. Between 2007 and 2008, we saw a significant decline in both frequency and severity rates of on-site injuries and illnesses. Education on road safety has been strengthened in our efforts to prevent commuting accidents.

Employee benefits include free or subsidized meals, recreational facilities, educational programs, and health clinics. Nursery schools are offered to children of our employees in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam.

We formed a specialized team in 2008 to investigate opportunities for further reducing energy and water consumption across our Group. We also strive to reduce waste and increasingly use environmentally preferred materials to mitigate the impact of our products on the environment.

Our Foundations in Taiwan and China have provided thousands of scholarships to less-privileged students, and our factories have actively supported local communities through financial aid and medical assistance programs.
