Feng Tay Enterprises Co., Ltd. was established in 1971 with NTD two million of initial capital. Like most small and medium-sized Taiwanese companies at the time, Feng Tay struggled to survive, with employees working long hours to produce enough output to pay the bills. Profit earned was reinvested to purchase equipment to expand the capacity of the factory.

In an increasingly competitive sports shoe manufacturing industry, Feng Tay steadily expanded its production capacity while introducing advanced European techniques into its production processes. Production quality was upgraded, technical expertise elevated, and manufacturing cost lowered, all of which resulted in the establishment of a strategic partnership with major customer NIKE. During this period, Feng Tay also embraced the computer era, increasing the accuracy and efficiency of its operations through computerization.
By the 1980s, the increase in the value of the NT dollar and average wages further strengthened corporate managers' beliefs in the necessity of technical upgrades and business transformation. Therefore, in addition to maintaining the quality of our products, we began to put more emphasis on developing different kinds of shoe models for our customers and equipping our employees with multi-dimensional know-how needed to successfully complete special orders.

In 1988, Feng Tay expanded its operations beyond Taiwan and has since established factories in China, Indonesia, Vietnam and India. Our multinational corporate structure and management system were established and steadily matured during this period. Beginning in 1992, mold factories were established outside Taiwan, and advanced mold-cutting capability was introduced, reducing manufacturing costs and expanding the range of Feng Tay Group's value-added services. Furthermore, in 1992 we collaborated with NIKE in establishing the first Asia-based shoe manufacturing research and development center.

In 1997, Feng Tay Group began to produce Bauer ice and inline skates and later added Rollerblade inline skates and Nordica ski boots and snow boots to its manufacturing mix. The casual shoe division for managing industries other than athletic shoes was also founded during this period. In 2003, we established Shoe Majesty Co., Ltd., beginning casual shoes production for brands such as Clarks, Rockport and Dr. Martens.

Beginning in 2003, we further expanded our Group by establishing the Sense 1991 International Co., Ltd. for retailing women's shoe business. In 2006, we instituted the Rich River Co., Ltd., which operates retail businesses for Born. Feng Tay Design Center was launched in 2008 to support the manufacturing business.
